Why a white shirt and jeans?
To create something beautiful you always have to start with a blank canvas. A white dress shirt and a pair of jeans is the perfect base for any outfit. Dress it up, or dress it down. Add bold accessories, or simply throw on a pair of flip flops. It is a versatile and chic way to express yourself. This blog, I hope will serve as my own blank canvas. My dream is to fill it with images of things that take my breath away, and that it will serve as a source of daily inspiration. From fashion to food to fun outings, I hope to give you something lively and entertaining to read and admire! Enjoy!
About Me:
Who I am and Who I wish to become…
I fell in love with my hometown of Dallas, TX at a young age, and I decided that there was no place better to attend college than right in my own backyard. The past three years of undergraduate have been an eye opening experience into the different facets of Dallas. I have discovered a city full of interesting, creative individuals, which have inspired me to tap into my own creative instincts. The recent addition of a Fashion Media minor to SMU’s curriculum helped lead me to connect my passion for writing and obsession for beautiful clothes and accessories. Combining the Fashion Media minor with my Advertising major happened somewhat serendipitously. A Social Media Marketing class opened my mind to an entirely new form of marketing/advertising, and I began to notice how social media has changed the landscape of the fashion industry. Brands are now much more accessible and have unique voices (think Bergdorfs or Oscar de la Renta.) The consumer can finally relate to the once elusive fashion industry, and I cannot be more excited to see how the future unfolds. With one more year of undergrad left I hope to explore more possibilities of a career in Social Media Marketing or Fashion Media, but the ultimate goal would be to combine my two areas of study into one perfect passion; Fashion Social Media Marketing. I hope that if I work relentlessly and always keep my curiosity and enthusiasm then one day I can achieve that dream.
